Rob Powdrill bit of simple Pad Work (Video)

Trained today with Rob working on some simple power drills and bit of fitness ..

As was announced Rob will fight for the WKN World title versus Francis Tavares on March 17 in Cap d'Agde, France.

The fight will be under kickboxing rules, so we didn't do any knees or elbows.. oh well hands and kicks work quite well anyway ... (check also Rob Powdrill fight video highlights )

anyway michael seemed like he won the fight even before he stepped in the ring ..

and also that's the result of under-counting your opponent ..especially when u gotta face powadrill !!

Our gym mate Yuma Ishizuka is returning to Japan tomorrow.

Yuma is always a great help and support in the gym. Along with Steeve Kennedy he's been teaching mma, different kind of grappling tricks and he's also a good muay thai kickboxing sparring partner and he's fought mma and kickboxing quite a few times too!

Wrestling Competitions in Western Australia

Last Sunday November 27 in Fremantle PCYC, few of my mates competed in Greco-Roman & Freestyle wrestling State championships.

Pavel Kondakov ( Fightmag.net supported ) won two silver medals. In Freestyle wrestling he fought under 84 kilograms and in Greco-Roman style he competed in absolute category.

Originally Russian Pavel started with Greco-Roman wrestling back home, he also got quite a few skills from Sambo and Judo. Now he is getting his boxing and muay thai techniques developed. He is looking forward to compete in MMA sometimes soon too in Perth. Along with sport Pavel is working as a plumber developing his PK business ( I'm setting up a website for him too ).

Quite known ( very right funny pictured ) Steven Kennedy won gold medal and was awarded as the best fighter of the championships - 94 kg.

Navid Nikraz came second in freestyle wrestling, he fought in the same category as Steve. Navid's brother Ommid became the gold medalist in freestyle wrestling.

Meeting out with Moppa Alex James and Danial MINI T Williams.

These two are quite known here in Australia in the fight sport industry.. and Moppa is probably in particular for his Perth's socialising haha.

Everyone deserves a bit of rest and time off so we do. We never had enough time to get all together until then. Both boys are training as always of course and Moppa will be getting ready soon for his next fight probably at domination 8.

Mini T meant to fight on DDD this Saturday, but apparetnly was quite hard to find him an opponent. So let's just wait a little and see what happens next.

BTW the same evening we met with russian boxer Victor Oganov for a bit who's also fighting this weekend in Melbourne.

"Sex releases feel-good hormones such as dehydroepiandrosterone and oxytocin," says Dr Darren Russell."

2 Lowers blood pressure and stress
A Scottish study exposed people to stressful situations and found that those who had regular sexual intercourse responded better to stress than those who engaged in other sexual activities or abstained.

3 Reduces depression
Those feel-good hormones also help keep depression at bay.

4 prevents osteoporosis
"Men and women who have regular sex have higher testosterone levels, (which) are linked to a lower risk of osteoporosis and bone problems," says Dr Russell.

5 Keeps colds and flu at bay
Lots of sex means fewer colds and flu, say researchers from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, USA. They found that having sex once or twice a week increased production of the immune-boosting antibody immunoglobulin by a third.

6 Prevents prostate cancer
Several large studies have shown that men in their 20s who do it frequently (about 21 times a month) can reduce their risk of prostate cancer later in life by a third, compared to those who do it five to seven times a month.

7 Relieves headaches
Research shows that sex can alleviate an aching noggin, especially in women. The endorphins and corticosteroids released have an analgaesic effect, alleviating the pain of headaches, arthritis, cramps and body aches. (No more excuses ladies!)

8 Improves sleep
Dr Russell prescribes sex for people with sleep problems. "Sex helps people sleep better and is less addictive than things like Valium," he says. Again, it's those powerful oxytocins at work. In turn, sleep boosts mental and physical health.

9 Keeps you fit
Some experts say that 30 minutes of vigorous sex is comparable to 15 minutes on a treadmill or walking up two flights of stairs, and burns between 360 and 835 kilojoules. Sex works the pelvis, thighs, buttocks, arms, neck and thorax. Your pulse rate doubles from about 70 beats per minute to 150, the same as an athlete mid-stride.

10 Prevents incontinence
The muscles that stem the flow of urine, reducing leakage and incontinence, are given a great workout! Says Dr Morrissey.

Vital GurKOv - 9 time World champion to be back in OZ

My old friend from Belarus Vitaly GURKOV is now thinking to be back in Australia to do some more muay thai fighting.

Managed by Darren Curovic in late 2006 and won here in Perth vs Thai Jak Nakrantong and few months later he made a big bash in Melbourne at Brute Force winning over the best of South Pacific including Greg Foley (Video) and Jason Scerry.

He then took K-1 Eastern Europe tournament, fought at Thai Fight in Bangkok and had his debut in K-1 World MAX.

At this stage he is training in Minsk being a part of National Team and he's just back from IFMA World Champs two weeks ago.

I belive it can be a good challenge for Frank Giorgi or pretty much anybody in Australia who's fighting full muay thai rules at 72 kg.

Victor Oganov Closer to the Moon

Russian boxer Victor Oganov, who's now living in Perth, is shedueled for his next bout versus Brad Pitt on November 18 in Melbourne Pavilion. We had a meeting and chat at the Moon cafe on NB.

Victor Oganov had a good start of his pro boxing career in Saint Petersburg and in 2003 he went to Australia and had been working for about a year with Kostya Tszyu and then Jeff Fenech.

He won all first 26 fights by knockout. He also made a knockout American debut vs Richard Grant.

Victor's next opponent is undefeated Brad Pitt, who has won 11 fights with 9 KO's.

Here we go with 'John Wayne Parr: Blessed With Venom' documentary shown all around Australia and the premiere in Perth will be at Inaloo Events Cinemas on October 27.

There are quite a few movies with muaythai in it, starting probably with American Kickboxer followed by French Chok Dee and so on...

The real one, and probably the only real one will be John Wayne Parr Blessed with Venom? Talking about real - is that the actual fights and the movie plot is a true life of an Australian muay thai icon.
Probably to write this sort of script...'a simple man from Australian town who went all way up on the top of the Olymp of muaythai sport and cemented his name in it, got the recognition and love on Thai soil and fame and support all around the World...' ...doesn't require that much fantasy as lot's of people probably dream of success...

Wayne Parr has done it and has been living it.

Well it's not about the real boxing in this movie anyway, cause that's the robots who perform the punch-fest... steel against steel.

Watched it in cinema just then. The movie has a quite interesting life story where Hugh Jackman plays kinda looser until he meets his kid who he's left eleven years ago or something. The kid motivates Jackman and gives him will do things in life and change his visions and all.

The boxing between the robots is a main feature which 'keeps the characters together' and Jackman was a boxer in the past too. So now he trains the robot for a big fight.

Anyway I am not that great in describing the movie and it's probably pointless by no means. So just see it!

Perth Casual Muay Thai Fighting, October 8 (Video)

Very proud of Ricardo Pesanechi's debut fight versus Jordan Weir, last night in Perth. Also I've done a bit of fighting too. (nothing to be proud of haha)

Jordan took a split points decision. Was a very close fight, though Jordan had + 6 fights experience, so he knew a bit more and better how it all goes in the ring and all.

Proud of Ric for his effort and perfomance, he did pretty much all what we worked on, and it is great when the fighter can hear the trainer from the corner and follow the instructions - in the FIRST fight !

Of course there is a lot to work on and we are back in the gym this Tuesday to get ready for upcoming fights.

Then as usual Facebook love was started haha ..

Ric to Jordan : Thanks for the fight mate very much enjoyed it. Lots of respect.

Jordan to Ric : hey m8 well done in ur fight u have good heart strong legs bulk respect m8 good luck in ur nxt bout.
Oh by the way, a bit of fighting was done by me also. Was time to lift the butt off the chair (sorry the news line on the website was slowed down) and do some old school kicking and elbowing.

These two shots can probably be nominated as the the funniest photos of one of the best muaythai fighters to date.

Sudsakorn is a WKN World Champion since 2010. He took the belt of Andrei Kulebin who defended this title several times prior. Sudsakorn is also the Big-8 muaythai WKN World GP 2010 winner and he is victorious at Thai Fight tournaments as well.

The only Sudsakorn's recent loose comes to mind by now is the fight versus Petrosyan. Though they fought under K-1 rules, so Klinmee couldn't use his elbows.

He is well-known for his extraordinary ring entrance and fight performance which probably doesn't even require any comments... See it.

"This time next week I will hold the Amateur state title in my division .. over confident? ahah probably, but when you love this sport as much as I do its hard not to be.

It’s probably a bit of a shock that I model and box but there’s something about doing two things that are completely different that appeals to me.

Boxing keeps me fit and strong which helps me tone up for shoots and honestly you can get a lot of fun out of punching people .. (legally).

I do have to juggle them a little and work my shoots around training, if I know I have a heavy session coming up I defiantly book in for a spray tan to cover up any sneaky bruises.

The majority of my training has been under my coach Mannie De Matos who I am extremely grateful for he is constantly learning and teaching us new techniques and never have I trained under anyone so passionate about what they do.

This competition will be held at the Serbian Club in Maddington and I'm fighting in the 60kg division ... and don’t worry head guards are a must.

Yesterday Aussie top middleweight fighter Taylor Harvey tried himself in the MMA bout.

Taylor won in the first round by darst choke against Majid from NTG. They also call him the Beast from Middle East and it was 67kg MMA rules bout.

"I had a crack at mma it's was majig from nuggets gym so it doesnt count but I choked him in the first on Evolution at 67 first an last mma fight. I am muaythai. :)"

Taylor Harvey is a muaythai fighter coming out of MAD-X gym in QLD. He has 41 muaythai fights + 1 victorious MMA just now.

He is top known in Australia and overseas in Europe for his participation at BIG-8 muaythai WKN WGP in 2010 and he is also planned to compete in WGP 2011 this year too.

October 8 seems to be a nice day / night where we will clash in a simple muaythai action here in Perth.

Two of my good friends and fighters Ricardo Pisaneschi & Josh Thomas will be fighting along with Melanne Rosetta and Steve Kennedy and I will be doing some kicking as well I suppose.

Ric will be fighting Jordan Weir, this crazy Kiwi lad. Josh's opponent I am not sure yet and Mel & Steve will be fighting the guys from Sydney.

Planned to see Chris Irvo having his debut fight too, though he got pulled in too much work, so won't be enough time to get properly ready for the fight.

Ash & Matt bros seem to be keen fighting too, so let's see what happens and what kind of matchmaking can be done.

Won't see Paddy on the show and it was his farewell party last night too... He back by January this Irish !

I am pretty sure the poster above is well done featuring the eldest son of my coach who's based in Sydney now -- Alexei Pekarchik & legendary Thai Jamhod. And Mr MINI T on it too !!

Btw unfortunately Moppa lost last night against the thai. Sad, but as they what doesn't kill us - makes us stronger. Powdrill won the rematch by KO in the first round against Olsen and how did Van go I didn't get the news yet.

Very sad & actually bad news received last Friday that our friend & fighter Patrick has to depart from Australia.

Patrick Conroy also known as Paddy got his PR application denied and has to leave the country within next couple of weeks.

Paddy is 25, originally from Stradbally town of Ireland. He started mma & muaythai at Tiger's Gym in Thailand & trained for around 5 months and he has now been training with us in Perth for a while too. He is a talented athlete, top sparring partner (such a right overhand...) & a good friend.

He fought MMA & Shooto at Rize promotions, Evolution and Snake Pit and also participated in Domination muaythai tournaments and we are looking forward to a big sport future for him to come.

Apart of sport, Patrick is a professional licensed plumber & has been settled living with his girlfriend for 3 years here in Australia.

So now look, a person who lives his proper life since quite a big period of time, helps the environment, wanted by society & industry he is in, simply does the right thing..., has plans and projects started, developed and in process... is now basically being kicked out off the place which is his home since long ?

Well it is simply unfair... and not only towards Paddy, but what about all his friends, gf & so many others who need and want him here???

In any case, Paddy, we are all here for you to help and support as much as we can and we will be waiting you to be back shortly!

Went to 'bring-me-home-but-mcdonalds-first' on the way from a wonderful city of Joondalup.

In 2 weeks Moppa is fighting against the Thai Panlex from muaythai Plaza. As you know, he traditionally needs to loose weight. So we had to arrange that favorite weight-loose-exercise for him, if you know what I mean.

Very nice trip by the way, though Joondalup is so much different from Perth. Reminded me Luxembourg's suburbs where completely nothing happens... Until it happens.

Got stocked a little in the traffic, cause some people drive like true muay thai fighters... Show left - turn right. They probably watch too many movies or something.

Danial MINI T Williams winning the WKN title (Video)

The title and the belt that Danial was expecting, had been training for and deservedly received.

As you can see on the video below the image of the fight was changing during all fought rounds from one side to another. The final result that can't be really questioned though.

A great show with the top quality fights ( loved the ring girl too ) was promoted in Perth on April this year, and it have been already broadcast three times on Fox Sports and Fuel channel.

Kids in martial arts | the new generation of kickboxing

There were few posts recently about kids kick boxing competition and one of the most loud was probably when JWP's daughter Jasmine had her first fight on June 18.

Few days later Wayne had an interview on radio about Jasmine's fight and combat sport for kids in general. He said a very true and simple thing : ‘Martial arts is nothing but good and positive’.

My mate Shane Marshall had his kids first fights on July 30 in Queensland and the following is a short report from proud and loving father.

James Marshall is in the blue and he is 11 year old weighed in at 59.100 kg. The other kid is 13 and 60.500kg. James had round 1 and 2 and the other kid gave James a knee to the chest and got an 8 count on him in the 3 round with 30 sec to go. James has got another fight on the 2nd of October at FUTURE stand up muaythai show in Gold Coast.

Hayley Marshall weighed in at 28.600 kg and shes 9 years old and it was her first fight. The other girl weighed in at 31.4kg and she was 11 yr old.

James and Hayley been fight training for 3 months and James had a week to prepare for the fight and the 2 kids they fought on the night had been training for 2 years and had been in the ring prior to the fight.

With so many top fighters why do the still use the same

A great series of tournaments THAI FIGHT have been promoted in Thailand, France, China and Japan during last two years with practically completely the same names on the fight cards.

I think it is normal we’ve seen Pinca since the very beginning as he is the first ever Thai Fight winner. Famous Yodsanklai who have just recently lost against Japanese Shirasu Yasuhito though. Buakaw who is known from K-1 Max era. We’ve seen Saiyok as well. My favorite Sudsakorn is out of discussion please, he probably should be granted to be in forever cause he is the only one who makes the SHOW during the fights. Lidon fights in Thai Fight too yeah.

Well I am not talking about excluding any of the names above as they are top regarded fighters with a lot experience. Why not include another Thai Kem Sitsongpeenong, Kulebin, Finlayson, Cosmo… for example. Maybe they are working on it now as when we’ve received an invitation from Thai Fight it was saying the following:

“Thai Fight s the most biggest Thai boxing competition in style of entertainment of the World. You can see our profile at http://www.thaifight.tv/vdo4.html. TF was supported from Thai government officially and there are many partnerships which are top big name businessman in Thailand. TF is not only sport but it is a mega sport entertainment.”

Well yeah entertainment is basically done by Sudsakorn, this is for sure. Personally I think Thai Fight is just a brand which makes some muaythai shows which is a national sport of Thailand.
Then we’ve received something strange, which probably doesn’t even require to be commented:
“What Arena should be organize TF? I would like to see the people over 10,000 persons come to see TF… Can you find out super star in each zone? and motivate them come to join with TF qualified round in status of super fight or honor fight and fight in Muay Thai style?”

Though we have tried to explain: “Except of few Thai fighters there are no any superstars in TF. Superstars in fight business, especially in muay thai do not exist anymore… Superstar in fight sports are in MMA ( UFC ) and BOXING… The new ones have to be built. We can find fighters in any zone and help you to build the fighters by zone. This is what we have been doing since more than 15 years all the time – building and promoting new fighters, making them famous and known Worldwide.”

So basically we are keen, can and ready to help promoting Thai Fight in Australia and build new fighters and names. I also think WKN World muaythai champion John Wayne Parr will be happy to be a part of the game as his retirement is on hold. Especially if TF wants a real superstar – here we have Gunslinger ready for war!

I am just thinking for Thai Fight not to face the same fiasco as K-1. Same fighters since forever… and now look the results.

Josh Thomas | The first but not the last

Last Saturday ( August 6 ) my friend Josh Thomas had his first muay thai fight on domination development day 5 in Perth.

Yes it was the very first fight in the boxing ring with the win as the result. But definitely NOT the last fight and not the last win in his career.

I think and believe that Josh's training will and abilities will soon bring him on the next level from amateur sport to a pro. If he just works and trains more, having good lined-ups and gain more experience.

As a trainer I am happy he didn't get any hits in head and performed few things we were working on eg 'middle kick catch with the right hand cross as a reply', he made that 'stalking wall' at the end of the third round too :D

Of course there is a bunch to work on and progress and we will and success for sure!

Congratulations dude , with that fight you even made that grumpy ( sometimes ) man quite happy too!

* Moppa , as i told you you are a genius dj also .. putting the wai kru ram muay music in the first round instead of fight music .. and then you just completely switched it off . well done m8 !! special thank to Patrick Conroy for camcoRder-ing and that kind fight commentating Right fRom the coRneR !!

Muay Thai Kickboxing Is Good For You

The sport and fight spirit we all love – muaythai kickboxing – is probably the most popular martial art today, similar to Karate in XX.

First of all let’s correct and refer to a post I’ve previously published that muaythai and kickboxing are two different sports. It is true, they are different. Though these days the two martial arts are kinda united in one, mostly by general public, I suppose. Probably due to a massive branding and different kind of rules where traditional muay thai got modified. K-1 rules – kickboxing oriental and everything where thai step-up knee is allowed but no clinch, or named modified thai rules aka thai-boxing where you can still grapple, work in clinch, catch legs and all, though the thai elbows are banned. Kickboxing was found in States when Karate athletes started to use boxing gloves when sparring. As far as I know it was invented by Chuck Norris. Muay Thai is obviously a National sport of Thailand with the centuries of history.

In a way or another the majority loves both sports – muaythai and kickboxing. Practically every fighter competes in both styles anyway, depending on the regulations of the tournament. Like K-1 for example that was practically built by pure muay thai fighters at the very start. It’s Showtime pretty much the same. By the way about K-1 and all what have been happening, one very clever man who I know since years said : ‘K-1 will die, muaythai will live forever.’

Muay Thai and Kickboxing is good for you. In one of the interviews an Aussie thai kick legend John Wayne Parr said : ‘Martial arts is nothing but good and positive. It teaches discipline and respect to adults.’

All this doesn’t require any proves, we all know and love it. So developing our combat sport community and making it stronger and united, we have set up a new Facebook Page for all of you – fans and supporters, fighters and trainers, managers and promoters.

Wrestling & Female Wrestling

Just recently spoken to Imogen Gallagher from Perth, who does all this kind of wrestle mania thing, to learn some info about the WWE and what is Australia up to in this industry.

Well, it's like the second time I am out of traditional muaythai kickboxing stuff I use to post here - there is an article about Aussie Judo Olympian - though the girls wrestling might be quite interesting.

As far as I know wrestling is just some kind of TV entertainment brought and developed from States. It's fake and they say wrestlers even cut their own foreheads to be paid more, means the bleeding is aint caused by the actual fight. Though it is probably better never argue with the wrestler. Or it's just probably better not to argue at all haha - WATCH the video below to see what I mean.

Imogen Gallagher - I started training in 2009 under The Shark who was trained by former WWE Superstar Lance Storm. Training was really tough as I and my sister were the only two girls there at the time and we got beat up a lot by the boys. Training consisted of intense cardio conditioning then learning all aspects of wrestling from break falling to higher impact moves such as the suplex and DDT.

I wrestle mainly for All Action Wrestling based in Warnbro, Western Australia but have performed across Australia in places like Adelaide too and have done so for the past two years now.

I’ve have an amazing career so far and I look forward to achieving even bigger things. In my two years of wrestling I have managed to capture the AAW Australian Women’s Championship FOUR TIMES against some of the toughest competition this country has to offer. I was honoured to be past down the “Rocker Dropper” as a finishing move from Marty Jannetty (Former WWE Superstar/Tag Partner of HBK Shawn Michaels) which I have renamed “Star struck” and as of late I was named the General Manager for All Action Wrestling.

Wrestling is always something I’ve wanted to do since I saw my first ever wrestling show on TV. I looked up to these girls I saw on TV that were so beautiful yet athletic and tough and said to myself that’s what i want to do. I guess when you really want something you will work hard to get there and stop and nothing if it’s what you really want.

In the future I would really love to work for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). That is the top of the wrestling business and work with some of my idols like Kelly Kelly.

The company I wrestle (All Action Wrestling) for is affilated with several indy wrestling promotions in America.

Every now and then we get former WWE Superstars down to a show, so far in the last year we have had Raven, Marty Jannetty, Orlando Jordan, Rob Conway, U-Gene (Eugene), Paul London, Al Snow and current TNA Superstar Christopher Daniels is coming down August 19th & 20th at the Warnbro Aqua Jetty. All Action Wrestling generally promote its shows in the Rockingham/Mandurah area but demoninatly at the Warnbro Aqua Jetty.

Wrestling itself is still a popular form of entertainment through cable TV. All of WWE's programing is aired on Fox8 and TNA's Impact Wrestling is shown on Fuel TV.

Not sure if it is the same thing we've spoken with my mate Morgan Payne few days ago. He does BJJ / MMA which they call wrestling too ? He said he got selected for Australian team for wrestling Camp and Australian Cup which is an international competition, US will be coming.

Ivo Santos - Aussie Judo at Olympics 2012

Got a message this morning from Ivo Santos whos is a Judo player from Melbourne, Australia qualifying for London 2012 Olympic Games.

Well Judo is a different sport form what we work with, though it is a martial art and there is quite a bit of Judo's techniques in MMA. As usual we are happy to support anybody who has a will and effort in sport and as you know we support young talents too.

Who's on Fightmag.net Cover on August 2011 ?

Currently thinking of who to feature on cover for the next month, any ideas?

Well there are so many great fighters and quite a few decent fight nights to happen next month, though we will probably use one of the models, following the tradition.

Fightmag.net is a magazine online. I do believe there is no point to make it printed. No point simply because when the information gets released on paper - it is already read and known online, which makes it old. Being number one source online - this I suppose is the way to go. To keep readers and visitors updated with the latest BIG and MOST WANTED events Worldwide and of course in Australia, delivering news, photos, videos, articles and interviews. Any kind of promotion today is mostly online, including TV of course when you go big-big like we do with Bigger's Better live on Eurosport.

One thing made me wounder few days ago, when I went on WMM ( World Muay Thai Magazine ) website. It was printed too, and the guys had been doing pretty well, but now when you even go on their website it says "Account for domain worldmuaythaimagazine.com has been suspended ". Honest, I have no idea what happen, but did they face fiasco ? Can you still buy the mag in stores ? I do hope everything is okay though, just a temporary difficulties.

With Fightmag.net we keep everything online which works PERFECTLY. By the way there were +1200 visitors on site yesterday too.

Each month's cover represents us on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Blog... Our partners publish it on their websites which gives both sides more exposure and attraction. We make a special article about the model too which gives quite a bit of fame being a face of Fightmag.net for the whole month. This article also includes the biggest fight events announcement to happen this month, the fight show that we cover and work with!

Basically now for the model to feature on August I got a good idea, though it is not confirmed yet. So if you have any better / more ideas please contact by email.

MMA and Thai Kick Boxing FIGHTERS WANTED

WKN announced the fighters research for an MMA tournament on August 2. Though the zone is Europe, so being in Australia we are out of this location.

Good news is that Kickboxing and Thai Boxing style fighters wanted too and the area is Worldwide. The show is planned on August 5. I assume it will be in Holland or Suriname.

WKN Intercontinental modified thai-boxing rules title at 64,4 kg against Angelo Simson - brother of famous Ryan Symson. He is a current belt holder too by the way.

WKN International kickboxing fight at 72,6 kg versus Antony Nekrui. He is a current amateur thaiboxing World champion.

The same weight devision 72, 6 kg international thaiboxing fight facing Miles Simson and International kickboxing superheavyweight fight versus Enriques Zowa.

Just a quick update from blog on four of the Australian muaythai fighters : when is the next fight and what's happening now during the winter season.

Christina Jurjevic female kickboxing talent from NSW : My next fight isn't planned. Jason Lapin, my trainer, doesn't plan them really, I think he just waits or something n see if there is anyone with will pop up. At the moment I'm just cruising through training n soccer mainly.

- Jason Lapin is a very good trainer and as we've seen Christina in muaythai action she seems to be gifted too. In Australia football (footy) is for men and soccer is for girls? Personally, the soccer, I don't really get when twenty men running after one ball and two men-in-a-frame try to catch it. Just a different sport, I suppose, though when these men start crying because of a shin hurt or something. Well it is sore and does hurt for sure, though to make shins hard and solid is not that hard either. Footy is opposite - it is for real tough ones and it is quite interesting to watch too.

Danial Williams who is one of my favorite muay thai World champion sure prospects : I plan to have my next fight in September anytime, I have started to get back into training only last week and really just up to university and boxing.

- Danial just probably forgot to add the word kick or thai before boxing and women to complete the package of activities of course.

Rob Powdrill Mr ax-leg kick : I'm fighting in September on Domination, heading to Thailand in 2 weeks to prepare, I'm re-matching Kim Olsen, we fought when I first started n came a draw.

- I don't really understand what's wrong with that perfect coach that you got in the gym now, Rob ? Or he is just probably scared of you hey?

Brett Craine-White Perth's International kickboxer : I'm fighting Mitch Seth whenever the next Domination is, I think. Not much at the moment same old just work n training.

- Should we just send you to another fight in Europe as you did well last time in Poland, if there is not much at the moment in Australia?

By the way don't pay much attention on my comments cause this post is basically from our blog so it can sound a little different from a dry news announcing. Though it is very good to see everybody is serious about sport and keep training non-stop even during a pretty cold and sometimes sleepy winter season.

Absolutely not talented, is he ?

When Alexander Ustinov just started he was already 25 and ALL specialists were saying he has absolutely none perspectives in sport and nothing will come out of him. In 18 months he became a World champion.

Ustinov started with kickboxing. 64 fights so far and 53 wins where 17 of these wins he ended by knockout. With 1 draw and 9 looses I don't think he is a a made-up record fighter. He holds wins over Paul Slowinski, Bjorn Bregy, Gregory Tony, Freddy Kemayo. Though he never fought in K-1 Japan WGP where all top heavyweights were targeted to appear. I suppose its due to his style and the actual force. They probably didn't want another Semmy Schilt?

In boxing Ustinov works with Team Klistchko and he has an undefeated record. According to EMTBY.com there is no mark in the contract saying he can not compete versus one of the brothers either...

He had two MMA fights with one win and I am pretty sure he can fight muay thai too which can probably be a good challenge for Carnage?

Originally Ustinov is Russian. A VERY friendly guy who was taken to Minsk, Belarus in 2001 by his trainer Vladimir Zadiran. By the way Zadiran himself is the FIRST kickboxing champion of the World from USSR (1993) and he is a very well known martial artists in all past Soviet Union territory. He also says he can build a champion from anybody.

Girls fighting

I am always curious why girls not just train kickboxing for fitness as it used to be, but now actually participate in muaythai kickboxing fights on professional ring.

The referee in this video is a little bit strange though... Fight of Sindy Huyer in China 2011.

Knowing Sindy since 2009, quite a good fighter, been twice a World champion and a very nice (and crazzy) girl too.

Perry Cale is known as the best ring announcer from Australia.

He is the voice behind the stage, well quite often he is on the stage too. Basically Perry is the person who runs the show and makes the atmosphere at the venue so positive and entertaining (apart of the ring girls of course who make the air quite warm).

proper judgement, yeah right ...

All honest personally I will never recognize and truly respect those "judges" or fight sport "specialists" who have never been in the ring as a fighter at least several times.

It is impossible and wrong to judge anything or anybody's work and in our cases - muaythai fights results - if this or that judge has no idea how to do that work or fight in the ring himself or at least have a proper education and good experience base. Not a certificate which means absolutely nothing in most of the times.

Some judges make favors to the local fighters or their mates... Because of the same reason - they simply DO NOT KNOW how it is to fight in the ring and to be over-judged.

It is a sport by the end of the day and must be fair. Yes, at least sport must be fair. It stays away from politics, economy issues etc. Even all wars used to be stopped during Olympics.

Though it is not a secret - UNFORTUNATELY quite a few people / organizations eg some of the combat sport commissions and all - which are absolutely useless - INSTEAD of doing their proper duties - ASSIST the developing of sport, they cause difficulties to promoters, athletes and just collecting money for nothing, sitting at the shows with serious faces thinking they are somebody.. ptfff

On Australian fighting forum jabout posted about the show last night: "W.A. Your got some great camps and fighters but your judging is really bad."

For the fighter who knows that he lost the fight but was still given a win - first of all it is embarrassing, second it is pointless, third it makes quite a few people upset.

It is frustrating.

Quite proud of our BB6 Portugal boxing video montage I've done this week. Most of you probably have already seen it.

When it is Friday 20.00 prime time and you think what's on tv tonight? There you go - Bigger's Better live boxing on Eurosport.

Pretty much boxing rules, but sometimes you can't see that many proper boxing techniques and combinations, simply because the fighters come from different schools of the fight game, mostly muaythai kickboxing with some mma experience; not that much about boxing. Though it makes the tournament much more dynamic and bloody (crowd loves it) from those twelve round boring bouts that televised quite often too. It is also something like a fight night champions where the winner takes all tournament and gets qualified for the grand final.

Basically Bigger's Better can be called a fight night 3 as there are 3 by 3 minutes rounds and the winner has to win 3 fights during one night with the $30.000 total prize money.

muaythai kick PROPER pad work

Kicks in muay thai is probably the base and need to be used properly. You need to be explained and shown how to do it properly and you need a good thai pad holder too.

The video above shows pretty much everything. The most important is to notice how the heap is turned in and that swing on the standing leg. That's pretty much it, BUT...

It is very important to move always when kicking, otherwise you will loose all your power and/or will be kicking birds.

This can be trained only if your pad holder knows exactly what he does - how to hold thai pads.

He basically should move either a bit forward or stepping back making you follow him. This way you will just have to move towards him - step in - or make a move a little bit backwards, making a pick up kick in liver for example when you are being attacked by the right jab. Though the actual hit should be forward to generate the power, not back, even if you are stepping back while defending.

BTW it is better to move sides when defending, not back.

I am never involved in any politics, simply because the sphere of sport is always out of this kind of stuff, which is probably good. Though it is hard to realize that in the middle of Europe there is a place with political prisoners and the economy crisis which is full on since several months.

Muay Thai and Kick Boxing are two different sports

The difference between muaythai and kickboxing is not only that knees and elbows are allowed.

These two sports get mixed up quite often, probably due to kickboxing popularity when it was found in US and the Kickboxer movie 1989 with Jean-Claude Van Damme when the final action was taken in Thailand which is a birth place of muay thai.

Kickboxing originally is a kyokushinkai karate with the boxing gloves. That’s why all kicks and punches are so much different from muaythai style of fighting.

All movements and techniques are way too different, first of all the foot work, when kickboxing is based on all those “jumps” and muaythai is basically a “walk”.

These days these two sports are sort of combined with the popularity of K-1 where knee is allowed. Though there is no leg catch, no clinch and NO elbows.

If we take two athletes of the same level and fight experience, I don’t reckon a kickboxer will last too long against a thai. Though the history showed the thais still feel quite comfortable fighting under kickboxing rules, even they can’t use one of their favorite skills which is elbows.

In training process, it is always hard to re-teach somebody from one style to another. And there probably no need to try unless the person has a will to change and improve.

Giving your fight night the right name

So many different fight shows and events around the World and few of them just made me think “why they are actually called like that, what is that special in these shows?”

I am not going to give any critics to anybody as I am not use to criticize someone’s job. Though I got a will to post just a few lines with the names to remind.

Starting from back home (I am such a patriot) in Belarus where Evgeny Kotelnikov runs his international sport project Kings of Muay Thai since years. The matchmaking he does is always the top vs the top. That’s where the BIG-8 WGP come from as well. Eight best muay thai middleweights from all parts of the World and only one winner. Not much can be added as it’s pretty clear, I suppose. November 26 this year we will see it in action again. By the way, somebody should represent Australia too. In 2009 there was Kurt Finlayson and in 2010 Taylor Harvey.

Now in Australia, I am probably the luckiest person to work with Darren Curovic who runs DOMINATION shows together with Blair Smith. This is massive. In 2010 John Wayne Parr fought Dmitry Valent and that show was called as the biggest fight night ever promoted in Australia where apart of the World title there were, I think, six or seven more title bouts on the card. The following fight night with Nathan Corbett and Pavel Zhuravlev in the main event… This fight video can explain much more than words anyway.

Also, this BIGGER’S BETTER boxing eight man contest where the weight division of the fighters is from 82.00 kilograms to no limit. So yeah bigger is better for sure. Imagine fighting somebody +130 when you are just 82.

The name of Cyprus show Loyalty and Respect which is on tomorrow (June 10), run by Chris Christodoulou contains that passion that most of us have to this sport and spirit we have inside the federation we work in – WKN.

And this WKN… World Kickboxing Network. So MANY other combat sport federations created and exist (what for?) these days with the word ‘World’ at the start of abbreviation. And ONLY ONE is really active everywhere around the Planet and can be called a World.

Funny, as it probably sounds like an advertisement of my friends or something, though I just tried to put few things together… Cause look WKN Big-8, WKN Domination, WKN Loyalty and Respect, Bigger’s Better obviously has quite a big involvement of WKN in it too…

I believe if you work with the best – you are the best, as you do part of that job, right? Means you do your best. First of all you put on good event with quality fights where matchmaking is even, management and all other arrangements are properly done. So the name DOES really contain exactly what it says, not being just a marketing tool to attract people having pretty much nothing behind this name.

For the fighters it’s like if you want to fight on a good show and be number one – you will try to fight on Big-8 being chosen as the best athlete of your part of the World, for example.

Though when the name of the show gets widely recognized due to its’ quality and top performance – it works as a real brand. Similar to any product I think, like if you buy a computer Dell for example, you know it will work well (I got Dell).

Unfortunately some names (brands) face real fiasco time to time, like K-1 these days which is not a secret to anybody, though it’s another story.

Good sparring partner

What is sparring? It's basically a training fight or a fight during the training, right?

All those combos you have been learning you can use like in a real fight when sparring in the gym during the training session. So there is no need to hit your sparring partner as hard as you can simply to show that you are stronger or something. In the gym, you probably have an option to think a little bit longer than in a real fight. That's probably also why the sparring session exists during the training, no? So use your skills, work with the person who is front of you. Not smashing each other, but trying to perform this or that fighting action clear, clean and sharp without hurting each other but showing that he needs to pay some more attention on his guard or something for example. It shouldn't be a light contact either, cause it's not a ballet by the end of the day anyway. Funny when tough boys or like Steve Kennedy says wannabe-tough can't wait to fight and won't stop talking of this, but during the simple training spar session get a shin a little sore and that's the end of the World...

It is always easier and better as well to spar with somebody who is more experienced than you. If you are a beginner and got a chance to spar with experienced fighter don't be scared that he will hurt you or something. He won't. He will basically let you work and will work on you. Though pretty much every experienced fighter likes to spar with somebody of the same level or even higher. Like this it is even and he can use his real skills and knowledge, work on guard and also avoid injuries. Yeah, most of injuries received during sparing session appear not because of hard hit or anything, but simply when it's not clean action and from muaythai it transforms into street fight. That's why in the gym I always advise to use the skills and combos that we have been learning in spite of just throwing kicks and punches no matter where just to hurt... if you know what I mean.

Quite interesting will be the one of the unwritten rules is that you never go spar with somebody in another gym if your trainer is not there. I remember back in Belarus one of the boys who trained with my coach wanted to fight in the ring so much... though the coach believed he was not ready at that stage. So the guy thinking he was already strong enough have arranged a sparring for himself in another gym without telling the trainer. He got knockedout. So his fighting career was pretty quick.

It is good to spar with the fighters from other gyms when it can be properly arranged though, under control of the trainers of course. Means the fighters from different schools get all together and have a fighting session. It helps to develop the skills and gives some experience too as you are pretty much fighting versus somebody who you are not used to like your gym mates, plus people watching and you want to represent your gym well. It is still training but this sort of sparring is pretty hard and it is good when it's done say two months before the real fight coming.

To find a good sparring partner is quite hard too. Weight difference of the athletes in the gym probably won't be that first issue. First of all it will be experience and ability to teach each other, work on each other and learn from each other when sparring.

There is no secret for anybody that in boxing the actual sparring partners are being hired. It is like a real a job to be a good sparring partner. Probably pretty hard job. In 2005 with the sub-headline "Did you get punched in the nose by your boss at work today?" USATODAY.com have published the ten worst jobs in sport where the sparring partner job took the second place after the horse racing groom which is probably the worst of the worst for sure.

Muay Thai Kickboxing personal training benefits and how it works

Private 1-on-1 Muay Thai Kickboxing Sessions or Private classes is quite popular these days. It definitely helps to learn and develop your skills faster and more comprehensive.

The obvious benefit is a personal trainer where he is fully concentrated on one person only. So you get the whole amount of attention.

Personal training is based on your individual goals. It can be intensive or gentle depending on what you are trying to achieve.

The standard private session is one hour with ten minutes warm-up which also includes foot-work to gain coordination and stretching for body flexibility. It is followed by pad work to learn proper muay thai kickboxing techniques and/or bag work for power and stamina. The standard classes usually end with circuit training as push-ups, sit-ups, etc.

Kickboxing private classes can be also good if you train with a friend. I mean it’s a combat sport right, so having a partner to work with will be good too. It’s like a mini group of two students and a trainer. It’s easier this way to work on some specific exercises like low-kick checking or middle-kick catch and stuff like that. It’s a good fun also to ‘push’ each other and cheer when one of you is more tired than another for example.

Muay Thai can be good for females also as a self defense course. I mean this thai-bo and kick boxing for fitness is very popular since long, it’s some sort of aerobics with imitation of kicking and punching, I also believe it is very good for coordination and cardio first of all. Though I am talking about the actual self defense class that works, as muay thai itself as a martial art has quite a few skills which are pretty much deadly. Most of all those elbows that can leave a massive cut or knock another person out. Where there is no need for yourself to be a heavyweight or have an incredible power. It is a simple skill to be used. There are girls who actually fight in the ring too, but this is another topic I suppose.

In combat sport to become a personal trainer and ‘wanna-be’ a personal trainer or even simply run the group class are all different things as well. Apart of all those diets and everything I’ve wrote before I believe the actual knowledge, if it can be called like that, you receive when you have been trained and fight as a final step. I mean it is easy to see and learn how to teach others if you are being professionally taught and then you experience and use all these lessons and education in the actual fight in the ring as a practical lessons.

I’ve been involved in running group classes and training back in Belarus since long and also prepared Alexei Talantov before his victorious fight with Patrick Carta at WKN international event; and Vitaly Gurkov when we were here in Australia and he was lined up for for the national competitions and then World champs in Thailand and finally he returned to OZ and fought in Melbourne at Brute Force taking all that 8 man tournament and Greg Foley in the final bout.

So now having a bit more spear time, apart of group classes I also plan to start muay thai private lessons here in Perth on Northbridge at FFC. Be different when fighting

Thinking during the fight is very important so you are able to switch from one technique and tactic to another

Before each bout the fighter together with the trainer choose a special tactic for this or that opponent. How to fight and domination.

Normally it starts when the fight is taken and confirmed. Watching the latest videos of the opponent, looking at his style of fighting, finding out his weak places and mistakes he does. It’s some sort of scan when you know exactly who you are going to compete with and what needs to be improved and worked on at your end.

Well when the fight starts you know exactly what to do, according to the plan. What if the plan doesn’t work? When you try to do this or that things you thought would work well but it simply doesn’t. Plan – B, where this plan is normally something completely different from what you have expected to do, that’s why it is so important to be multiskillful and be able to change and be different in the ring according to situation.

During the brake between the rounds the trainer normally tells what needs to be done and changed. Or if the fighter is experienced enough he can simply manage the situation himself during the fight.

This video below is all about what I’ve just said. It was in 2006 when that guy just wouldn’t fall down, probably having a liver made of steel… During the brake I was advised a simple thing and in the second round it worked well.

Sometimes it’s not about tactics or skills or anything physical like this. It works on the mental level as well. For example when Shakuta fought Kongnapa in America around 10 years ago. Shakuta was young and fought a Lumpinee champion strong Thai who was based in US and the tournament was for his glory. First two rounds Shakuta was pushed back and couldn’t do much. Though he was able to brake that level of Kongnapa’s confidence and perform complete domination over him. Confidence level I am talking not only about how many fights you had and how strong you are and all.. It is also about when you are a local fighter and all crowd cheers and supports you you feel like a local hero or something and ready to win. Those who fought out of hometown on big ring know well what I am saying and how it feels.

Training, training, training…

When you go to the gym every day to do some basic training or targeted preparation for an up-coming professional bout.

For some muay thai or kick boxing is just a way to escape from daily routine. For some it is a routine. Well basically it’s just a lifestyle for the fighters when it becomes their profession and they live from it, like Wayne Parr for example. Routine probably will sound a bit rude especially when love to this sport gives motivation and quite a few opportunities in life too.

It will probably be hard for me to describe how it feels when you do training just for fitness as I’ve never done anything like this in my life. I mean if I train – I train for the fight, not for body toning and basic fitness like that girl said. It’s nice to see a gym full of people who are keen to learn some muay thai techniques and upgrade the skills they already have. Plus cardio work which is popular nowadays – cardio-boxing or thai-bo the way they call it, coordination and simply to stay healthy.

Talking about the training for the fights, well a lot can be said. I just remember around eight years ago when after school rushing home to get that bag with gear and run to the gym to make sure you are not being late, otherwise it’s disrespectful towards the trainer and others. Discipline and order that what they teach in Belarus. Training there it is always a class session always. I mean there is no difference how experienced or titled you are – you always do exactly the same training as others – what the coach says you do. In some other countries the difference can be noticed quite easy, when the fighters do their own thing and the actual coaching process is a bit strange too.

There must be a system in training starting from the proper warm up, when all parts of the body are prepared as most of injuries received at training come from not being warm enough that’s all. Each session should be different otherwise it will get boring, though the basics should be repeated each time and confirmed as a ground knowledge same as homework at school. Means you have your proper base and each time you learn something new in combination with fitness.

Will be silly not to say that probably one of the most important things will be sparing. To find a good sparing partner sometimes quite hard regarding to difference of weight division or level of experience. To get that good conditioning, range, the right feeling of being in the ring and power as well – all this finally come from sparing where the last step will be when you can last, say all full 10 rounds against 10 different hard opponents in a high tempo, full on working.

And… a bit of physical exercises at the end of session, push-ups and everything and the most annoying but so lovely part will probably be those push kicks from knee 20 times each leg at the very end of the session when you can hardly stand… Such an exercise, though it saves in a fight from having soft legs and let’s you move and keep your opponent on the distance with that push kick if needed.

Training is beautiful, never be lazy. Yes of course.

How skillful you are

We have spoken about fitness and its’ importance, winning ability and all, so now let’s try to look through some info and samples on fighting techniques.

Muaythai is known as an ‘eight weapons’ which means both legs and hands, elbows and knees can be used when fighting. ALL kinds of kicks and punches can be applied including grappling and clinch.

Not that often you can witness any of extraordinary skills though, like a round house kick following by a spinning back kick for example or right-left step in with that left elbow coming in done by legendary Jamhod or those skills from french boxing savate while fighting under thai rules. The best example will be for sure my old friend Farid Khider.

Any skills in any sport are probably based on foot work, body (weight) balance and how coordinated you are. Means having all these in complex you will be able to defend yourself and attack from any position. Kulebin’s fight below will demonstrate all what I’ve just mentioned.

Personally I believe this foot work, coordination and flexibility is the base to start. Then learning some basic punches and kicks and applying them when fighting, getting experience in the same time, will be the step number two. All to be followed by proper fitness work and work on pads to get the right action technique and power. Then all these will be used like an engine in a fight, I mean your instincts and reaction will work automatically. The top class will probably be when you listen to your trainer giving advises from the corner, think yourself in a fight before the action and be able to make analytics of all this… and BANG ! All this in combination within less than a second. Such a skill…

Massive fight weekend just gone, what’s next? This is Badr Hari!

Saturday May 7 was a D-day for the World of kickboxing where Makowski defended his title in Poland and also Manny Pacquaio beat Shane Mosley by unanimous points decision in a boxing fight in Vegas.

The following week seems to be huge too. Badr Hari in the ring ! Moroccan heavyweight is lined up for the main event at It’s Showtime France vs Tony Gregory on May 14 in Lyon.

I suppose there is no much difference who Badr Hari is fighting. The actually point, that he is back to action is a great news for all his fans around the World. Hari was out for a year or so after that disqualification in a fight vs Hesdy Gerges who eventually received the champion’s belt. Hesdy Gerges will probably be out of the fight scene for now as well, depends how that case will be going on. Badr says he is looking forward to the upcoming bout and simply to be in the ring and feel it; and it’s an honor for him to fight in France.

Personally I would love to watch Badr Hari fighting Nathan CARNAGE Corbett. Carnage is an elbow machine where Badr Hari fights K-1 rules. Though if the match can still be arranged and both sides will agree with the rules and conditions… It will be something not even just incredible… Something bigger !

Being rewarded

Do you always feel like you are getting exact what you deserve and worked for?

Sport is like any business based on the plan. For promoters it starts from hiring the venue, insurance, license, airfares, accommodation, different sort of frees… fighters purse. Well it’s a long list of expenses. And as far as I see promoters basically depend on how much they sell – tickets, corporate tables. There is always some help from the side of sponsors and support groups though if the show is planned to be big with top ranked fighters and media, sometimes even that support is not enough and a lot is being put up front. It is sad to hear when promoter after that massive amount of work he’s done, doesn’t get what he deserves. And it’s not a question of greed or something, it’s simply like in any business ups and downs I suppose.

Financial factor is probably the most touchy and it splits people quite often when it’s a team working from the start and then this human factor takes its own. I mean when one person of this team does less or thinks that another one does nothing or not enough which causes conflicts. Unfortunately there is a big list of examples of what I am talking about
.
There are promoters who do small shows simply to make money mostly for themselves. Well fair enough it’s their business. Though their shows are pretty much invisible and doesn’t really bring anything for the fighters – they ones who do the shows.

Fighter purse its another question and very sensitive also. Heaps of talented athletes. Without naming any numbers I can just say that some of these fighters get a fortune and some practically nothing. It’s another question of management I think. The great thing is when the name of the fighter becomes something like a brand and being sold quite well. I remember fighting in Perth in 2009 for two hundred dollars, was good fun though, especially those conditions of the fight, opponent and all.

Fighting on TV is an exposure, that’s how the name is being built, right? With proper management it works and the good proposals from sponsors and line ups will come. Fight night’s TV broadcast is also an effort coming from promoter which is quite expensive as well and there is not always an opportunity to compete on these shows.

Internet as another media source which is very important. Printed magazines will probably be outclassed soon. All news, videos data in general… everything is online these days. What also becomes popular now is an internet TV. We are working now on this aspect to get it installed on Fightmag.net too.

As a conclusion just couple of lines back on the topic will be the next: being rewarded it’s not always about money. It feels great when people simply say thank you and do really appreciate what you do, regardless… Though the biggest mistake will be expecting something from people as some of them simply do not understand how the things are done having different or double standards or simply don’t care.

‘So be careful what you wish for, cause you just might get it. And if you get it then you just might not know what to do with it, ’cause it might just come back on you ten-fold.’

Thai-kickboxer Parviz Iskenderov originally from Minsk, BELARUS with an experience of around 50 fights, starting at the age of nine.

In university he experienced international communications, media and also learned french as the third language. Fighting locally and overseas he have tried Thailand and Western Europe with the settling in Australia as a present destination being a part of Kao Sok team.

Parviz had been running Pro Team Fighters group which was a unity of international athletes in 2004-2006 and in the mean time he was supporting belarus muay thai promotion EMT.

Later in 2006 originally french Fightmag.net got under his responsibility and was transferred into english based international news source online which is being developed around the World and now in Australia since 2008. In late 2010 inside of Fightmag.net Parviz set up an official blog where he shares his thoughts and ideas on fight business in general.

WKN have nominated Parviz Iskenderov as an international coordinator for Australia in 2009; being with this strong organization since years (2001) he now plans to start australian athletes management.

With the web service company he have been running since the age of fourteen, apart of other projects he has created an honorable Bigger’s Better website which is an exclusive boxing concept broadcast live on Eurosport in more than 59 countries.

Fighter sponsorship

How hard will it be to find a sponsor for an athlete who does sport which is not really supported by the government?

Combat sport we do – muaythai and mma – they call fight sport, violent and all, we call it a Martial Art. Though I believe even regardless all this government support or anything there is a benefit though – the businesses in Australia are mostly private and there is always a facility to work and support sport.

As far as I see to be sponsored in Australia and compete inside the country only, is a little bit pointless. To become a known fighter with Worldwide recognition all you need is traveling. The difficulty for Australian athletes is that the country is too far from everywhere and the problem comes simply to airfares purchase .
It is always great when such sport brands as WMD for example support Aussies in MMA and now they took a muay thai fighter Craine-White under their umbrella also. He is fighting in Poland for the WKN World title this weekend on a big show and as he promised he will represent his sponsor well.

With the connection I have in WKN and with the support of the WKN World president Mr Cabrera who always helps and assist us I am keen to work in this sector of sponsorship. Probably sounds a little bit confusing what I am saying but let’s try to work it out.

The show in Cyprus next month for example. FIGHTER WANTED for Christos Nikolau I received few weeks ago and the idea was to send Alex James who’s mostly know as MOPPA . The fight is in muay thai rules which is perfect for Moppa and the weight division is 85.500 so he can still eat well (he loves it). Though to fly Moppa and his trainer in to Cyprus from Perth will cost approx 4500 EUR which is pretty expensive for this little island of Cyprus. WKN is about to help with half of this easy , though we had to find another part. I do believe that for ANY company in Australia to supply say 3000 AUD will be pretty much nothing in exchange of its’ brand exposure on the international level where the fight is the main event of the night and broadcast on TV. Well too bad, we didn’t think of it earlier and Moppa missed the fight. Though we are working on it now !!

Mini T who’s in best shape and skills and still young and he will have a great future in this sport IF he will get a proper management and lined up fights not just in Perth or around the country, but around the world MOSTLY.
Well regarding to my ideas these two are going to be in charge of Australian muay thai around the World soon. To fight in Thailand it’s all good but people hardly know about these fights. So we are going to Europe soon!
Other great fighters to look after and support will be Toby Smith, Rob Powdrill, Luke Aram… and so many others !

What all these diets are about ?

To be honest it is quite annoying when this or that girl keeps saying ‘oh I need to loose few kg, I gonna get that new diet and all’. Obviously I am not going to talk about fight sport right now.

In any way I believe all these diets are created by doctors and myself NOT being a specialist in medicine I can just simply type in my own ideas on the topic.

It’s evident, all of us, people in general I mean not just the girls, have different body complexion, genetics and everything. So to put everybody under the same line will be just silly. So all these diets are created specifically for different types, right ?… But honestly those BEFORE and AFTER… doesn’t it make you laugh ?

We are human and years take over and it is normal every next year it gets harder and harder to keep being fit and look the way we look at 19 for example… Some people have a bit extra at that age too though. Also don’t forget, to look like a model from magazine’s cover it is a little bit different than to be in a good shape and fit. Not just because graphic design creates magic, but simply because professional photo-model is an occupation, means this person puts everything to look the best and use what is given by nature plus daily workout and everything.

What I think about diets – first of all it’s a waste of time, money and practically no effort being put in it… Just expectations. Honestly.

If you work front of computer eight hours a day and you notice that you need to do something with your body – simply go for a walk around the lake or something. Proper food also, everybody knows – fast food is bad. Workout in the gym, weights and all this sort of stuff I suppose you shall start doing it only after you can breath well after say 5 km of run. Cardio is everything and it’s a base of fitness, which means you become healthy first of all.

Due to stress, daily routines and duties sometime you think you just have no time to do any exercises. But hang on all this exercises you do first of all you do it for yourself. The World won’t stop if you allow say 1.5 hrs per day to do something athletic in combination with proper food as well.

So diets or no diets I think it is all a human factor where you can simply push yourself in a little bit of training… or you can just sit back and rely on a diet believing in magic or something, hoping it will work.
It’s not about professional sports diets of course. As they work and specifically done for athletes on different stages of training and preparation. It will be a different story at all.

Fight for your life

Good friends we have had, oh good friends we've lost along the way... Says it's never gonna be the same

A tragedy happened with our friend Nick Mandyczewsky last week when he got crashed on the motorbike.

Catastrophe, disaster... a real nightmare for all of us, family and friends. When the life of so young and strong man was taken so quick and unfair... So fragile, unexpected and UNWANTED!!!

I remember around 11 am he was already done with running and was getting ready to go back to the gym to train more or train someone. He lived with sport, being so helpful, doing personal training and all. He was the one who helped Powdrill before his fight with Moppa few weeks ago, held pads, spared. Himself fought several times on Domination development shows and was lined up for an MMA fight in NSW. Capable and motivated, having so many good ideas, giving advises and providing support. So much more can be said.

I know he was fighting for his life the best he could during those 48 hours, though that injury was too bad and unfortunately the doctors couldn't do much.

The memories still remain and will never go. Rest in peace brother and your spirit is always with us.
